Does 9300 & 9650 automatically add GPS info to photos? If so, can it be disabled in a BES 5.0.3 IT Policy without completely disabling GPS?

Our CEO just got a new BB Pearl. Everything works file and connects to our server (BES 4), but the emails only synch'ed back to 5/20. Can I change some setting so he can get emails prior to 5/20?
