Alarms can be disabled in notifications but you need to be sure to read instructions for your phone and not turn off notifications you want.

this applies to BlackBerry Device Software 4.6 through 6.0

1.In the Clock application, press the Menu key.
2.Click Enable Bedside Mode.

Note: To turn off Bedside Mode, press the Escape key.

Set options for Bedside Mode

To set Bedside Mode options, complete the following steps:
1.In the Clock application, press the Menu key.
2.Click Options.
3.In the Bedside Mode section, perform any of the following actions:To disable LED notification when Bedside Mode is turned on, change the Disable LED field to Yes or place a chcek mark in the box.
To turn off the connection to the wireless network so the BlackBerry smartphone does not receive phone calls or messages while Bedside Mode is enabled, change the Disable Radio field to Yes or place a check mark in the box.
To dim the screen, place a check mark in the Dim Screen box.
