Default REALLY ANNOYING! messages dont have a real time stamp

Please Login to Remove!

hi all,

iv got the Pearl 8110, and ok its an older version than other bb's, but still this is a problem which my first ever phone years and years ago, didnt have..

in my messages folder, the time which is written with the message is that of when it was actually read or received by me on the phone, not when sent.
for example, again, i got a message last night, and my phone was off, i turn it on at 10.00 lets say, and then at 10.01 the message comes through, and the time stamp is 10.01, even though when i asked the person who sent me the message, they said they sent it at 2.36 that morning. in certain cenarios, the real time doesnt matter, but in others it does, and i cant begin to believe that this is an actual bb problem, i believe i just dont know how to see the real time, so can someone please tell me..!?

thanks,

am3

The Message folder is showing what time the messages hit your device. When you turned it on.

The actual message header should still show the time the sender sent the message.

This "feature" of the Blackberry makes users freak when the device was left off overnight...so in Outlook it shows messages as having arrived the previous day and on the Blackberry, even though they are in the same order as in Outlook, it shows them as having arrived after the phone turned on the next day...

BlackBerrys really are not designed to be turned off. You can set the profile to "Silent" if you don't want to be alerted overnight as new mail arrives, but to preserve time stamps it should be turned on.
