I just got this deal with t-mobile at costco as well (on sunday 12/7/08). I was just about to submit my rebate but I noticed the salesperson added $24.99 for Web & Msg 400 per month on my existing plan. So now my monthly total (as shown on paper) is $84.98 which is the original $59.99 + $24.99. I called the person up and asked her about it and she said "oh I have to show the Optional Features with the $24.99 in order for you to get the $50 rebate"). Now i'm not sure if this is fishy or not. Anyway, she said my plan should be the same (which is 59.99 + i have 9.99 for text messaging) and not to worry what shown on the total monthly charge of $84.98. Just send it in to rebate center and I should be okay. Anybody has this and is this right?
Call T-Mobile and see if anything has changed on their end...that's who is going to be sending you a bill...seems a little odd but you defiantly need to check
I have seen sales reps make up stuff to get customers the rebates they offer. Like BC said, call Tmobile to verify your plan but you should still be fine on the rebate as they are usually handled by 3rd party companies who don't have access to your account anyway.
Thanks Barb and BC!
I just checked my plan online with TMobile and I don't see any additional options such as the Web thing for $24.99. So i guess I'm safe unless for some reason it pops up on my bill later. I'll just gonna send in the rebate anyway though the Web feature shown on the paper for me to send in really bothers me. Is it possible to NOT send that piece of paper in and still get my rebate? Does anyone know? I wish the salesperson could be more honest and explain to me her reason for doing that at the time. Just too much trouble to go to Costco and talk to her face-to-face. Oh well, worse case I don't get the $50 rebate which is okay since I am starting to like the phone now. But then again...$50....i could do lots with it! =)
