In my bb messenger, what do the different status symbols on my contacts mean?

For example, there is one that is like a little callout bubble with dots in it...i think this means they are typing. There is also one that looks like an idle clock--what is this?

Are there others?

In a conversation: the idle clock is when you message is sending to the other recipient.

Is there a symbol for when they are talking on the phone?

No, and BBM messages won't receive or send while the other user (or you) are on the phone. Their status could go unavailable, although I have never noticed that.

ok. a friend told me that when they are on the phone a little speaker symbol would show up next to their name. I have never seen this--that is why I wondered.

Yes... I have seen the lil "speaker" lines, pretty sure that means they are talking on the phone.

Then there's a lil cartoon bubble, that means they are typing.

Also have seen a lil clock (busy) although I don't know what that implies.
