Sorry if this was addressed earlier, but did anyone else have a problem entering the 'About' screen after installing this update? Does anyone have a fix?

Do you have Voice Activated Dialing installed, or did you remove all the vad cod files upon installation? Without VAD, you will not be able to access the "About" screen.

You have only installed half of what is required. You need desktop manager and the os itself. You can find the os in the original post. Once installed follow the directions. Once you delete vendor.xml it will definitely find the new os from DM.

And it works best if you read and follow the instructions in the first post on how to install.

I'm trying to upload this new version for my sister, she has an old 4.2 version, however the app loader has been stuck on "back up device" for the last 45 min with no change. The 'cancel' 'next' 'back' and 'x' are all grayed out. What do I do?

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)
That happens occasionally. Just unplug, reboot the BB and the computer and try it again. No changes have been made to the BB.

After the fourth attempt to download V4.5.0.174, each time failing after 5 minutes, with error message "Proxy Error - The proxy server recieved an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request <POST/Error reading from remote server>"
If this is a common response, I suppose I should just keep trying. On the other hand .......?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

I tried one more time and IT WORKED! Installation was a bit jerky, but it finally completed. Now I'm setting up the BB.

Kicked to the curb I am sure, with all of the new devices out that have more ROM to work with.

Connected To Desktop
I followed the insructions completely. Right now my device is still connected to my PC, and the screen just says Connected To Desktop. Am I still OK? My BB DM is dimmed? I do not want to disconnect until I'm sure that it's ok to do so? Help?

How long has it been like that. It could take a while. Leave it connected.
