Default How long should it take to get an internet connection?

Please Login to Remove!

I just received my sprint tour via UPS today. I had to do the online chat thing to activate it and the woman told me it could take up to an hour before the internet browser would work.

Well that was 5 hours ago and its well past sprint's business hours. Is it normal to not have an internet connection via my BB for this long? I upgraded from the HTC touch and had internet on that phone earlier today. On my tour it is telling me "invalid address" when I try to open the browser.

Also, I noticed that my phone has ZERO apps on it. There is no sprint navigation, music, tv, facebook, etc. Nothing. The downloads folder, social networking, sports, music... all empty.

I checked my plan via my account online and I do have the unlimited BIS on my plan. It makes calls and does messaging without issue.

Is this normal? What can I do?

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Officially it can take up to 24 hours. I have never heard of anyone having to wait that long. Sounds as if it may not be provisioned (set up) properly.
Has it been added to the bis acct (have you added any email accts)?
Go to options>advanced options>servicebook. Is anything there?

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Also, after trying ez's step, in options>advanced, go to host routing table and then hit menu and register.

See if u get any email about "blackberry registration"

If there's nothing, give them a call back and see what's up. CALL them from a different phone... Dontuse the online chat. Its easier

As for there being no apps, these come as service books which will download entirely useless icons to your phone and annoy you. Once you get your internet and such working, they will start popping up. Eventually, they will annoy you... I promise

Thanks for the help guys! A friend told me to do exactly this same thing and it worked!! Apparently it needed to be registered... and yeah once I did the internet came to life and all the "missing" apps started to download.

Now... how do I remove the ones I don't want?!

Search / Read the other posts here about that.

However, they aren't really downloaded. They are shortcuts to take you to the installation of that app. They are pushed by service books by your provider or RIM. If you delete the service book, it will simply come back at some point.

Everyone here is suggesting to hide them and forget about them, and that is what I do.
