Default 9650 data loss after upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

Hi folks,

I had 10 apps installed. I did the over the air updates. It "somehow" stored the data during the upgrade process (did it upload it somewhere or store it on my media card?) . However, once the upgrade was complete, only 5 of my programs had all the data they needed. Other apps (like twitter) had lost all login data and I had to re-enter it.

Any idea why it happened to some and not others? Are the over the air updates safe to run? Where was the data stored during upgrade?

Thanks,

Matt

This is why I never recommend OTA OS updates. When you do an OTA update you have the high potential to lose apps and data. Always download the OS to you PC, back up your data using Desktop Manager, and backup your 3rd party apps with BB Swiss Army Knife or Desktop Master Contol Program. Then load your OS and IF there is any problems with your settings, data or apps, you can recover them using DM. Hopefully you have a backup to recover your other 5 programs.
