It makes sense that eventually the Playbook will be PIN-enabled, meaning it will have native BBM and BES-like functionality. The Blackberry via bluetooth pairing system is only a stop-gap in my mind...it's not an ideal or long-term solution. Leveraging the BES is what RIM will do...but how?

What do you guys think? How will RIM allow a one-to-many mapping of users to blackberries AND playbooks from the BES?

You figure they're envisioning a customer having both a Torch and a Playbook, both of which will be connected the the BES to allow for IT policies, control, push mail, etc.

It gets tricky when you factor BBM...how will one personal have a single BBM 'username', currently their PIN, but be able to reach his/her buddies from both their playbook and the blackberry? I'd love to hear some ideas from the crowd on how you think RIM will pull this off!

Well, i see no problem in enabling the famous "multiple presence" because G-Mail, MSN Live already have this resolved and you get the message from the session where you will reply the latest. I love this thin in Google chat so I dont worry about logging out of Laptop

Hmm....I'm not sure that will work here. With your example, you're still signing into GChat using the same user name.

In my example, you're effectively logging into BBM with two different PINs, or two different user names.
