my black berry is not turning on after the battery was changed. now when charging a red x is seen through a battery in the middle of the screen. what does this mean an how can this problem be solved. thanks

Probably a dead battery. Have you let it run down (past 20%) more than once or twice?

Did the device get dropped or wet?

First, make sure the contacts are clean on the battery and the device and make sure the battery is inserted properly.

If that doesn't fix it, try a new battery and see if that works - an OEM BB battery for your specific device, not a cheap knock off.

i hav done an nothign seems to work! ive tried updating but it keeps stopping! are there any other ways to wipe the bb an restore it??

Wipe with jl_cmdr (see the FAQ) and then reload the OS.

Did you try a new battery?
