If it was obtained legitimately, I would ask your friends to give you the password.
If it was not obtained legitimately, then I would report it to the carrier.

Hi I bought a 2nd hand blackberry 7730 off ebay. I obviously keyed in the wrong password over 10 times and the system has shut down and is constantly giving me a 507 Error

Any advice on how I can unlock the device?

A 507 means there is no operating system on the handheld device. It has been complete erase.

Please see the threads on how to download and install the handheld OS for your 7730.
