7100 Vs 7290

Question for the Blackberry folks out there.
My 7100 has been having some mass problems it keeps resetting in the middle of a call or when its just in the seat next to me the hour glass will spin for about 10 mins resetting itself. Im on the new firmware of 4.1. I was thinking of just wiping it and starting over but I don't know.
I have a brand new 7290 I could migrate too but Im curious what other's takes are?
