Has anyone reflashed their 7750's with the Verizon distributed 4.0 code? It seems that some of the users I've put it on actually feel there's an improvement. One noticable difference is that the Verizon browser shows up in addition to our BES one.

One important thing to keep in mind about those slow 7750's, is you must make sure you're not already too low in memory before installing BlackBerryOS. Make sure you remove unneeded applications and delete old emails ("Delete Prior"). Since the hourglass can suddenly show up excessively on a 7750 when it runs out of memory (which happens much more often on 7750's than other models of BlackBerries). As long as you keep an eye on the memory remaining, you should be OK with 4.0 on a 7750.

I upgraded my 7750 to the new Verizon 4.0 upgrade, and it works. After registering the Routing Table, the browser shows up. But dang is it slow! And the whole machine is still as slow as it was before. The 7750 is just not a good handheld. I'm sorry, but it just isn't it. I'm getting a palm treo next time, forget "push" technology...

Anyway, with BWC, I'm browsing the Internet on a Verizon 7750!! Without paying more, since I'm already paying for unlimited data!! Pretty cool!!

Philip, the Treo has a lot more problems from an interface design perspective. Order one of the new 7250's from Verizon and you'll be happy or switch to Cingular or T-Mobile which has been offering decent handhelds for a while now.

7250 rocks. 7750 isn't bad though. Better than a lot of other crap out there. I installed the telus version of 4.0 on a verizon which didn't work well at all. Browser died and all sorts of problems. Once I did the VZ 4.0 everything worked fine. It was a little slow, but if you ask me, it's way better than having to use wap on a sonyerricson phone to connect at slow speeds. 7750 isn't bad at all, I think a lot of people are just spoiled...

Wanting something better is fine, but jeez, realize a decent thing when you have it...

I flashed it. I just got a replacement phone from Verizon 7750 and I flashed it the day it came in, because when I called to activate it I was told that the 4.0 just went on the web site that day. I've been messing around with it. The web works, not as good as my Samsung I600 did. I can't get to a few sites....EBAY....for one. Verizon said it has to do with security settings on ebay....but my I600 got right in to the site, go figure. The picture reader is cool. I dloaded a picture and have it as my screensaver. As far as battery life, I don't see any change. Also still very slow....Later,

I did my first 7750 the other day. My God that thing was slow. It seemed like it took several minutes to navigate between apps.

Yep, I have my 7750 right here, I am adding and deleting apps, it is very slow, runing out of ram, yet brand new. The Verizon rep did not even clue me in that the 7250 was on the way, no doubt so they can dump their old materials.

The 7750 is indeed slow, for those dear readers who do not have the point yet. Ebay -- forget it. It has not come up. Other sites take their own sweet time.

Oh did I mention that it's slow? If you are nostalgic for the 486 days, this puppy is for you.

BlackBerry benchmarks show that the model 7250 is 5 TIMES FASTER than the 7750. (For a real world test - try web browsing! Someone browsing the web on 7250 and 7750 can confirm that it does feel that much faster!)
