HI, I just got a BB Pearl thru Cingular.. Few questions:

1. I've figure out how to make individual ringtones for different people. My question is can you make it to where when they send you a text message it will use their specific ringtone? My motorola Sliver did this, so I'm assuming the BB can also.

2. My version is 4.2.0.71 Is this the most current version for cingular's pearl?

Oh and this is my very 1st BB of any sort, so wow it's a whole new experience

You can not change the SMS ringtone for a specific contact, only the phone ringtone for a contact can be specific.

Go to your carrier's website support for your device, it will list the most recent OS for that carrier's device. However, you can use other carrier's OS and there is a great deal of info here on this forum regarding that.
