Wondering if anyone knows if the 8703e's GPS is locked or not for US Cellular. USCC gave me the run around when I called them. In short she told me yes/no/no/yes/no (lol). No where on there site does it say it is locked and also says GPS enabled.

The only way you will probably be able to tell is to install an application that uses the internal GPS API call (like TeleNav).

I did try two programs (Google and BB maps) and it will not find the satellites google says. The reason I ask is because USCC gave me the run around about if it works. If someone says it does work, then something maybe wrong with my phone is why I ask since I can't get a clear answer from USCC. And if it does not, then I think USCC should be in trouble for advertising it as GPS enabled without saying e911 only. I think that is false advertising since it also says it on the store display also without any type disclaimer.

i also don't want to spend money that I don't have to if the GPS works with USCC and broken on my phone.

I have a 8703e with USCellular and I have the same problem. My interanl GPS does not seem to work. If anyone else has any info I would appreciated too.

I have an 8703e on USCC also and I tried Spot which didn't work. I don't think they have it turned on, but I wonder if you can have it turned on.
