Default "modding" a pearl

okay well.. just a quick question. sorry if someone throws out a ' YOU SHOULD'VE SEARCHED ' at me. but.... I see all these people doing this and that to the pearl.. is there anyway you can screw it up anything like the PSP. for instance downloading themes... trackball changing colors can it corrupt the pearl in anyway.

sorry for long question with extra comments that weren't neccessary....

Yes, you can screw it up. Only download themes that are for your specific OS version. Make frequent backups. Most "screwed up" devices can be fixed so all is not lost if you screw it up but data can be lost.

Not only make sure you select the right theme for your device, but make sure your OS is up to date as well.

His question was how do I NOT brick my device. If the OS works for everything then there is no real need to update it. Updating always runs the risk of "bricking" it. I suggest not updating unless you need some functionality that you think might be in an upgrade.
