Anyway, thanks for your input. I have not seen anything that really contradicts or changes what I have said in my original post.

All of the solutions presented are things that I have already tried or have been aware of.

Anyway, thanks all!

You didn't give it a try is the bottom line . All the suggestions are posted above for what you need to do to fix issues. I would start hanging on the iphone fourms on the iphoneblog.com so you can start finding fixes for that devices short comings.

haha...how about the fact that it doesn't have a keyboard! (ooops). the new iphone better have "vibration" input so you actually know where you have pressed a button on the screen.

also...expect the iphone to be locked down a lot more than the 1st gen iphone...

Unacceptable? If you have complex passwords set on your Blackberry IT policy, then chances are you have the same password policies in place for your Outlook/Exchange environment so not sure how that would be different.

If I were the IT guy, the last thing I would want is a loose gun out there loading anything and everything on an unprotected device hooked up to my BES server...

Default Did I mention the Camera?

The camera worked good outside. However, when I tried it inside, I could not get a clear picture. They all came out fuzzy, no matter how still I held the camera.

Thanks goodness for 30-day money back guarantees!

Luckily it has a flash for indoor situations where the lighting is not as good.....unlike the iPhone camera which has no flash at all.
Didn't your Curve come with a user manual?

It's a crying shame.

that's right...it's only for the "elite" of cell phone users ...mwahahah jk jk jk.

i'm sure you'll have fun with the iphone...it's just not the best phone to use with corporate email systems, and i think you may find similar faults with it. who knows.

well good luck in the search for the perfect device. that's what everyone is searching for...it's just in everyone's opinion here the Blackberry is the closest device to the "perfect" device...but nothing is perfect

98% of the time the problems are user error... Some expect a miracle device that can read their mind, fix user errors ect....

Love my new alltel 8330 had verizon a while back nothing but issues. Altel treats me great! None of the issues discribed above. Especially once I did some studin. Some people just get used to one way. Don't wanna learn something new. So maybe u can't teach an ol dog new tricks! Best of luck with iphone.

You're totally tripping and incorrect. I am able to connect to the exchange server for my work company flawlessly via my Blackberry 8330 through Verizon. I LOVE MY NEW 8330 and don't have any of the problems that you list in your misinformed rant. Sounds like you just dont know what the hell you're doing and that makes you mad. I receive emails from multiple accounts within an exchange server at work as well as sync email accounts from Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail. I also synchronize all of my contacts from Microsoft exchange server in addition to tasks and calendar. I run Opera mini and yes, it has Https support as well as an absolute EFFload of customizable features to make your browsing experience more convenient. Again, do you have any idea what you're talking about? Like, even a little bit? Because it sure sounds like you dont have the slightest clue as to what you're doing. VZ Navigator? That's not meant for Blackberry. Get LiveSearch or something a bit more advanced. I use Blackberry maps in conjunction with Pharos GPS receiver ($59.00) for GPS Navigation which also works brilliantly without a single problem. Not one.
Your issues are clearly user related and it seems that this phone is way too much for you. Maybe consider morse code? Two cups at the end of a string?

Checked out my friend's 8330 they just got. The only thing I didn't like about the 8330 was it has a more plastic front than the 8320. Felt a little cheaper in that regard.

Dang it, that's my problem. I was expecting it to do everything!

Seriously, to each his own.

A visit to the Apple Store and a demo by the salesperson of the Iphone sealed its fate. He could not type a message to save his life.

I left there with an Itouch and a warm fuzzy feeling that I was due a new blackberry....

I have a 8330 through verizon.... The only problems I have had are my own user stupidity.

For me it is much like going from having a point and click style phone to something more complicated like html phone.... Your not going to know it all in 1 week.

The key is playing around with the phone, Reading the how to's and if your really stuck ask around.

Call me psycic but I think you will have the same issues with the iphone that you are with the BB. You just need some patients

Default BB is good for business and pleasure

I get youtube on my 8830 with beta upgrade to 4.5. I love having a full keyboard and really thing the trackball is a great invention, mine works fine. I feel the bb 8830 is the best cell phone I have ever owned. Would like to try the bold. I have had issues with verizon, but we have always worked it out. Also they have the best network I have found.
You could probably solve all of your problems with the great help and advice from this forum. I am slowly learning all my phone can do and am amazed.

I hear Verizon is quite notorious for crippling their phones and monetizing everything possible. I have the BB Curve 8320 on T-Mobile, and my three days with it only reinforced my notion that T-Mobile is very liberal with their phones and allow you to do whatever it is you want to do. Perhaps you should indeed ditch your carrier, but don't give up on BB.
