The last time I was in the hospital it was because of what turned out to be small tear in an abdominal muscle. They initially thought it might by my appendix due to location, so I stayed overnight while some blood tests were being run and was given some pain killers. I left the next morning and the only I thing I had to do before I left was make sure I put my hospital gown in a hamper.
I don't think many people will mind paying a little more tax to help out their fellow citizens when they are sick or hurt.
Please don't turn this into a debate about nationalised health care. I'm just saying I feel so terrible for the people who, for example, don't have any health insurance and have to go into irrecoverable debt to pay for treatment for life threatening illnesses or worse yet do nothing and die.

WOW kinda passionate aren't ya? I was only tryin to vent alittle I didnt mean any harm. I am now over it just gonna figure out how to pay the bill. Between ambulance and EMS its gonna sting may haveta give up my new found addiction of the BB for a while tho... But such is life. No debate here was just a unload series. Have a good one!

Ha! Ems can't bill for the call unless they transport to a hospital. At least that's what I've heard. Also they are concerned about liability, that if you they didn't transport you, and you had something worse wrong than you thought, you might sue them.

As a FF/First Responder if you tell them you dont want to go and the take you anyway you can charge them with kidnapping. They can not legally touch you with out your permission if you are in your right mind. If they touch you after you told them no then that is assault. We had a FF fired here for that exact reason. If your husband was there they should have asked his consent. He he gave it to them then your out of luck.

Your family doctor is usually same or next day.
Specialists depends on urgency. Last time I needed a refferal to an ENT, took 8 weeks.
OTOH, 4 years ago I had a herniated disc. It did take 6 weeks to book the CT scan, but I had to try physio first anyway. By the time the CT results were in, I could barely move my leg. My GP sent the refferal late on Monday to the head of neurosurgery at the leading neurosurgical unit in Ontario (I had asked for him). I got an appointment to see him that Wednesday, and had surgery the following Tuesday. Total bill $0.00.

2 months to see a ent is not enough for me, If its so bad I need a specialist I think that would be a more important thing to me. The price is right but I know in europe if a child is sick and they know he may not live to be an adult they dont recieve the best care they use the weight of is prolonging death as a factor and thats no where good enough for me.
Ive heard this first hand from a friend of ours that came to the states to get care.

Yes, but it was not an urgent situation. I needed to see the ENT to get an opinion wheter to get a deviated septum fixed or not. Every time I've ever NEEDED a doctor, they've been there.
