Not bad. At 1st glance it is quicker, camera app is better and no Verizon screen of death or media card error.

It seems as fast as .85. I havent had a verizon lockup screen yet or the phone freeze when its locked and I get a BBM (happens occasionally). Now Ill need to see if after a battery pull that I consistantly get EDGE. Seems recently after a boot edge would come up and never change unless i did another battery pull.

Question

Where are you guys seeing .86? I just went to the VZW download link and .75 was the only version available.

It's a beta, so not available on the VZW download site. However, it is insanely simple to find on the net.

Well it seems this OS has the same issue of finding EDGE and reverting to edge after a battery pull. It just took me 2 reboots to pick up EDGE.

Camera app now has a transparent HUD and it seems overall a bit faster to use and take a picture.

Hey all,

I just downloaded the new beta OS and went into the file to delete the vender.xml only to find that there was not one to delete. I have done this quite a few times for a number of years and this is the first time that I could not find the file. It does show a file in there that I have not seen before as well, VodafoneMusic.alx... any ideas?

I may just find another site to DL from and start over. Let me know your thoughts, and thanks!

UPDATE!!!
I just went into my .75 OS and found that it to has a VodafoneMusic.alx file, so I guess that is not that big of a deal!

sounds enticing...installing as we speak
wth is with the .86 branding though...why leak something so premature just to focus research on user feedback from one or two improvements...some things just dont make sense to me...

I'll report back on any new changes that haven't been mentioned...if any

I was looking at the Verizon upgrade link, and it seems pretty easy to do over the air once the new OS comes out. So tell me, is it really that easy? I download the new OS and then wait about two hours for it to upgrade the phone? Or am I better off bringing my phone to a Verizon store. And I won't do the beta version - I am too much of a weenie. :D

Sorry if i sound ignorant, but on the media player, is it a bug not to be able to fast farward a movie, or is there any trick to do so? I tried on .85 and now on .86 but no success.

I dont know what kinds of problems their users are reporting, but this, in IMHO, is the best build yet... I tried .85 for a day a rolled back to .75 because .85 was horrid!

.86 is cooking along on my Storm without a hitch and the speed has greatly increased in every area thus far.... Not a single issue on my end...

Anyone notice that scrolling/swiping in messages is extremely choppy compared to any other app? First real problem I noticed with .86.

I am loving .86 ... I have only had it installed for about an hour, however I have noticed it to be a tad more responsive than .85 and the Keyboard doesn't seem to be popping up at the wrong times as I had experienced in .85 ... Thus far I highly recommend this build!
