what happens if you create an event on the BB and then do a manual sync?

Is it possibly an OS limitation?

I have the 8100 also, and sync is listed as an app on the page (m.google.com/sync) but there is no link that works for me to download from. I am on t-mobile using the BB browser. I don't know if it is a Pearl thing?
Edit: I now have gotten the app installed. I sent the text to myself, and for some reason, that page had a download link, but if I went to the site by typing in the address, it didn't work.
But I am having the same problem as some here that it doesn't sync anything. It goes thru the motions, but the results are "nothing changed." Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

Crap...won't sync anything for me. I had a problem initially, my default calendar got associated w/the wrong email address, so things were a bit funky when I loaded Google sync.
It says it's syncing, but it just takes a few seconds and the results are that nothing it changed.
Appreciate any ideas...can't find anything in Options to reset on the handheld, and nothing on the calendar on the web side either.

Thanks...didn't work. I tried creating a new calendar from the PC in my account and syncing to that as well, and no joy.
Tried uninstall/reinstall.
Man, this is frustrating...some bit is set somewhere that is keeping me from syncing. I think Google Calendar is looking for a calendar associated w/my hotmail address on the BB, since that was messed up the first time I sync'd w/it. Can't find a way to get it to sync my BB calendar now...

I keep getting the message in red "Last Sync Failed. Server problems". I did initially sync then I got this message. I did a battery pull and it worked one time again--- but now the "sync failure" message is back. I checked firewalls and program permissions--- everything is set correctly. Anybody having the same problem? Any solution?

I downloaded the G-Cal and the Sync rather quickly over WiFi (T-Mo UMA Curve), but it will not allow me to log on (Sync). And freezes when I go to the G-Cal.

After struggling with GCALSYNC for a couple of weeks (never actually getting it to work properly), and failing miserably with Outlook calendar sync, this is just in time. Worked well on the first few syncs. Would love to see contacts added -- ever hopeful!

Tried w/another Google account, still nothing syncs...Google calendar remains emplty. Appears to be some problem w/Google Sync.
Scottjb, what did you do to get this working on your Pearl? Any step-by-step or troubleshooting advice?

I also don't understand the warning that appears when you sign out..

I think Google Synch is designed to run in the background for continuous synching so you really don't have to exit the program.
If you do, and the added events are removed, and then later sign back in the events are added back to your BB calendar. (I think--haven't tested this)

Sorry, I didn't do anything special. I just downloaded, installed and ran it. My calendar items came down from GCal. Then I added from both GCal and the BB -- both synced fine.
