Losing contacts is a first! I have not heard that one.

It has been metioned that BBWeather could be a culprit. I have not tested, but I am about to delete BBW and see if mine continues to fall. I deleted OM recently, never used it, so i know it is not the issue.

Make sure you're exiting out of BBWeather properly. It's been known to suck memory. Also, using the application switcher (alt + esc) will leak memory asa well.

I definitely exit out of BBWeather each time.

I use the app switcher (alt+esc) all the time, I didn't know that would leak memory as well. The reason I use it so much is partly to ensure that any unneeded programs are closed. Are there any alternatives to see what else is running/open?

Yes. There is a RIM article about it. Using it about 25 times will cause the hourglass to appear and data to be lost. I only learned of this recently.

the above mentioned article blames memory leak on application switching using alt-esc combination shortcut. How about application switching using the menu/switch application method ?

Does anyone know if this is something that will fix the VZW problems with memory management? And is this released from blackberry vs. VZW?

Lastly, can this be downloaded and loaded on through PocketSync for Mac?

It's a generic OS release for any CDMA 8130.

Don't know about your download question...you need to get it on your PC, install it there, and then load it on your Pearl following the instructions.

The leaky memory is not a VZW problem. They all do it.

Every OS released for the 8130 will work on every 8130. It doesn't matter what carrier you have. The carriers don't test every OS to release to their clients.

No, you'll need a PC with Blackberry desktop.
