I have a Verizon 9650 running OS 6.0.0.431 (official version). I thought that I would give pairing of phone with my Dell Vostro 1720 a try. First I had to go back to Dell and download the latest driver.

According to the Device Manager, it is a Dell Wireless 355 Module with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR technology (whatever that means). Also showing up in the Device Manager is Bluetooth Bus Enumerator.

I now show the BT icon in my system tray. In the control panel, there is a BT icon for Bluetooth Configuration, but no icon for "Bluetooth Devices".

Sometimes I am able to get the system tray icon to indicate connection, but it only holds for a moment.

When it cuts out, I get a message indicating that there are no com ports available (I suppose on the phone).


I guess that I need some further assistance with the pairing process here.

I see that there are no responses yet. In any event, I have since been able to change the BT driver to the Microsoft generic driver and I now have "Bluetooth Devices" showing up in my Control Panel.

I was able to select my own code and it seemed that the phone was successfully paired. However I still cannot get it to connect with the Desktop Manager. Getting very tired of search all over the internet for these solutions.


Come on guys, someone must have been successful in figuring this one out previously.
