Default Blackberry maps icon disappearing

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Bold 9000 and I installed BB Maps at least twice today and the icon keeps disappearing. I checked to make sure its not hidden or moved to a different folder and its just not there. Checking the installed apps, it does say its installed. I'm stumped. What's going on?

Ok, no luck. The icon did appear when I first installed BB maps the very first time. But no matter what I do and where I look, I can't see the BB maps icon. I'm using an alternate non-AT&T theme, I removed and then reinstalled BB maps with the application loader. Nothing seems to help. Sure, I can use Google Maps and I do....but there are occasions when I'd really like to use BB maps because of things like the 'track up' feature. It's hard to see where you're going sometimes with Google when you're driving forward and the map/pointer shows you going down, left, etc...hard to follow.

Any ideas?

oh wait! I went to mobile.blackberry.com on my Bold. Then I searched for blackberry maps in the search field on that page. I then saw an 'install now' link which I clicked. After accepting a terms and conditions, etc I was given a download button. After downloading (over the air) and installing, the icon is there and I can open it now. Soooooo....let's see if it'll stay now!

It should stay. I had a similar issue when I upgraded my OS. I lost many of my themes and with it went this application. I used this method and it stayed put.
