Default BB Maps Users - Can't find Country

Please Login to Remove!

Looking for confirmation that Map From Address Book doesn't work unless you have Country - US or Canada specified in your Address Work. It won't find the location.

If that is true it's a silly limitation once you have a city and state.

It wouldn't find any of my addresses until I added USA. After that it found about 30% of them.

So that's why it wasn't working! Added US and now it works!

My US addresses from Cali to NC worked fine after entering USA. Haven't had any luck with my Canadian addresses. Thx for the tip Stinsonddog.

I have updated my GPS page with this, and also noted the developments in Telenav from 4.4 to 4.7 to 5.0 versions.

BB maps offer multiple countrys. maybe thats why you have to insert the country. Needs more than a state and city

Not buying it. If the city, state or zip is found, it shouldn't require the country.

Some of the countries have state and zip. State and zip fields are not U.S. specific thou.

I wonder if the BB Map first looks up the country and cross check the state and zip. If the country is Taiwan, for an example, the map program does not even bother to check with the Zip code.

just my 2 cents.

Google maps for BB. Just tried it for Europe and it has coverage of the area I tried (Denmark). The directions even worked.

There are a couple of things that are appealing (after a fashion) about BBMaps, but by and large the 'suck factor' is very high.

I heard that telenave will release an update next week for the 8700 (now that Cingular released the update) it is upposed to rid off the occasional reboot which many have experienced.

Wonder how one knows that they have done that - I guess these forums.

Also, going to 5.0 has some really important feature upgrades. I hope its not just 4.7.
