Default Difference between IT Policy and Device IT Policy

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, All.

First of all, we're running BES 5.0.3 for Domino. Small scale; 100+ users.

Two questions:

1. In BAS, when I select a user or multiple users, what is the difference between the 'IT Policy' and 'Device IT Policy'? I can hazzard a guess at this, but what I would like to understand is why I have several users where the 'IT Policy' and 'Device IT Policy' don't match (many of them report that the 'Device IT Policy' is 'Password Policy' or 'Default', which doesn't match the 'IT Policy'). Should these match up? If they don't match up, am I right to assume that the 'Device IT Policy' is the one that is active and will ultimately define what the user can do and what is restricted on the device etc?

The custom policies that we have defined in BAS appear to be getting deployed successfully, so I don't understand the mismatch? How can I force the 'IT Policy' and 'Device IT Policy' to match?

2. Is there a way of selecting multiple users in BAS and then setting the IT Policy to blank (no setting) for all users?

Thanks,
Carl
