Audi A4 and International + prefix

My wife has an 8700 and new Audi A4. Everything works perfectly with the other than when trying to dial phonebook entries using the Audi Controls. All her numbers are entered as +.... and for some reason the international dialing prefix for the country you are in is not added. If you dial from the phone that works fine. I'm not sure if this a problem with the car or with a setting on her BB.
Any help would be appreciated
