Hi!

As a longtime subscriber to Popular Science (under MARK REJHON), I read with great interest of the 4-step buyer's guide to smartphones.

What somewhat dissapointed me was BlackBerry (not even 7100) was not even considered as a smartphone. This is totally understandable, as BlackBerry was still catching up. During the year 2004, BlackBerry software development exploded -- There was only 2 chat programs for BlackBerry at the start of 2004, and now there are over 20. Another example is that there were only 2 math calculator programs, now there's over 10. There are now over 100 videogames for BlackBerry.

Plus, you can now finally install Nokia/Motorola/Sony Java cellphone software on BlackBerry too! Which gives you access to many dozens of additional software programs. You listed some of the phones as smartphones, and unbeknownst to the writer of the article, the BlackBerry can now run those applications too!

As a result, BlackBerry now has over 1,000 applications finally!
