Sorry for the newbie question.

I did a forum search and also at the blackberryfaq site but didn't find what the prompt really means when deleting messages?

You can either choose delete "Handheld" or "Mailbox and Handheld".

Handheld would be deleting the msg on the blackberry.

Mailbox and Handheld? Does that mean deleting the msg on the blackberry and on the actual server where the msg was hosted? If you say yes to this option, does that mean the msg won't be delivered to your computer when you activate Outlook later?

Your help would be appreciated.

In my experience, unless you are hosted on a BES, then it will not delete both. So if you are using BIS to redirect you email to your BB, it will delete on the hand held no matter what option you choose but will not delete at all in your account. Hope that clears it up for you.

I have BIS. Sorry, I didn't mention that on the original post. So, I guess I'll just turn off the Reconcile Email function on the Handheld then.

IF you are on BIS--then yes, "Delete on Handheld and Server" will do just that. It will delete on your BB and your email server. That was not the case in the past with earlier versions of the BIS, but currently it does. I know I am on a POP3 server, and it will delete from the server so that email does not get delivered to Outlook.

Yep, that's right. It can be handy to prevent spam from getting to your PC.

If the email has already been downloaded from the server to your email client, it won't delete it from your PC.

Delete reconcile does work with Gmail. Just give it time.
