Default Having a Problem Setting the Password and Locking Handheld from BES

Please Login to Remove!

Ok My BES is lotus Domino and is service pack 3 hotfix 4.

We have this guy in Puerto Rico that forgot his password.

I logged onto the BES and used the set password and lock handheld option.

I gave him a new password and sent it.

On his device it says There may be protected data on this handheld. Enter your current handheld password to accept over the air password or cancel to reject.

And it also gives an option to wipe handheld.

Whats up with this? We were able to do this before without requiring the current password. Is this somthing with the new service pack and hotfix?

I tried it on my handheld and its saying the same thing.

Is there any way around this?

If not is there a way I can see his current password?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Default

ok i figured it out with a little help from BlackBerry support.

It does this because content protection is enabled. I saw this in the other thread but couldnt figure out why it it used to work.

Apparently service pack 3 hotfix 4 enables this and there is no work around for it.

If they forget their password the only way to fix it is to wipe the handheld which will cause the blackberry to lose all its address info.

Sweet, my employeer is getting ready to force passwords for all BlackBerrys! That is going to be so much fun for me! Being that I am the only support person for almost 2000 BlackBerry users.
