Default 'Hidden' Application?

Help!

8700g V4.1.0.285 (T-Mobile UK)
Current File Free: 45,471,076
File Total: 66,846,720

I regularly get a problem - every day or two, which i suspect is some sort of memory leak, where my Calendar reminders stop working.... Soon after that I get an error 'Too many threads open...'

I get this problem even if I am not running any other applications other then the standard desktop ones. (I always close the browser after use.)

I have removed any other applications using the desktop but still have the problem. My Blackberry was recently replaced due to an intermittent key - the problem is still there with the new replacement.

The problem is cured for a day or two by removing the battery and reinserting.

My feeling is that there must be some 'leftover' application or driver. I have tried upgrading the OS but this has not helped (perhaps I am unwittingly reloading a spurious driver/application when I restore my backup?)

Heeelp!!!! Is there any way to give my B'Berry a clearout?

Please advise

Mik

I would suggest manually backing up the HH via DTM and then running AppLoader ensuring that you select to NOT auto backup during the Appload. This will erase and reinstall all apps. Once that is done, hold off on restoring ur data until uve tested for a few days. If the issue is resolved then it means there was corrupt data on ur HH.

I am having the same issue on my 8700g. Only a hard reset will clear it. But after several days later memory is back down again.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107)

On my 8700r my memory creeps down too and I've found an odd entry in database sizes called 'Browser Data Cache' that has now reached 8800k. I regularly delete the normal internet cache, history, etc but this keeps growing. My friends with corporate 8700's through BES have 0 KB for this entry.
