Hi,

I know on the old Bold and other phones you could set up a custom ring and just check and uncheck it when you wanted it to work.

I want a specific ring to work during the 'normal' setting, but i don't want it working while on silent.

does anyone know how to fix this?
it says 'active profile' yet it still rings while on silent.

help!!

I'm not sure I am understanding what you want. Are you saying that you want the phone to play a ring tone for incoming calls when out of the holster, but not play that ringtone when in the holster? If so, then yes, this can be done. Just make sure that in the Normal profile, the Play Sound setting is "Out of Holster."

If you are saying that you don't want the phone to play a ring tone when using the "silent" profile, then this is possible too (and should be setup this way by default).

If I'm wrong, then help me understand what you are wanting to accomplish.

Sorry if I was unclear.

Here's my example. Let's say for Mike I have a special ring. When I get his email, his sms, his phone call or whatever it has his 'special ring'.

I want this ring ONLY during the day, in or out of holster. While it's nighttime however, i don't want to be interrupted... I need my sleep.
So I set it up for that Mike gets 'BBGroves_Interude' or whatever the heck it's called.
And there's a place where I can put Play Sound 'Active Profile' but whenever I try it still rings during silent.



Does that make more sense?

Ah, now I see what you are saying. Hm... I might have to mess around with profiles to see if I can figure out a solution. Sorry I don't have one for you now though. In the meantime, maybe someone else will be able to help out.
