Default where is the moisture indicator?

My ladys phone is acting up. Started with the "O" not working and it's progressed to the "V" typing a "A" and the "A" types "SoooOaaaV" or something along those lines. I'd like to check and see if there's moisture damage before I try to warranty it out.

Open the back cover and you might need to remove the battery, you're looking for a small 1/8" white square on the housing.

If the device has been completely dunked, it will be pink or red. Just high humidity or moisture, it could remain white and still have the keyboard issues.

If the indicator is red, you can forget about the warranty service, unless you have insurance on your phone that specifically covers water (moisture) damage.

I was in a similar situation... My wife was talking on her 9700 while walking under the rain (less than 5 minute walk) between offices, and the bb got wet and the indicator turned red.

I dried it in rice for 2 days, but the damage was done: letters P, O, I, U and End Call buttons did not work.

ATT refused to do anything for me because of the red indicator. A friend hooked me up with a new Torch (LOVE that phone).

In the meantime, with nothing to loose, I disassembled the 9700; and upon inspection I realized that it may only need a keyboard membrane. I bought 3 (just in case I mess up the 1st one) on ebay; replacement was a walk in the park, and, voila, the phone works just fine.
