Default Sending of emails zippyfast with 8700c?

When sending an email with the 8700c...is there a lag until it finally gets sent and the send box disappears? Or, is it pretty instant?

My main complaint about the Cingular Treo650 which is EDGE enabled...is that sending an email is so slow. I assumed that with EDGE the email should get sent fast....even downloading emails that are only text should be fast. I know it is using POP but I had hoped EDGE would make it better in delivery/receipt.

Or, is that just false hope?

I have near instant delivery with BES. Even incoming mails are blazing fast. In almost all cases, the email arrives prior to Outlook picking it up - small consolation, but indespensible when you are on those conference call where someone sends an email update and everyone is waiting for the email when you are done reading all the content before anyone starts talking!! I dont think this has anything to do with EDGE though. Even older BBs have the same feature. Its got to do with BES. Although my colleagues have Goodlink and they report similar features like BES.

I have hosted BES through Exchangemymail and have found that the speed of BES is almost instantaneous. This functionality has been extremely useful in my experience. As a medical student it is imperative that I have information at my fingertips immediately and I would assume the same for someone in a professional field. I cannot afford to wait for emails or updates on particular situations relating to patients. I always receive messages before outlook picks them up. Most often, I reply and send out before outlook even has a chance. Although not paid to endorse, I would recommend Exchangemymail service to anyone.

It's instant except in the rare case where there's an issue. Of course, it has been instant with the 7290, the 7230, and 6230 as well. EDGE has little to do with it.
