I have a BB 8800, Running BIS,
Connected to a Mac, OS 10.5.8
BB Desktop Version: 1.0.2

And, the contacts wont sync.
Error in the log:

2010-01-13 20:36:17.835 ERROR*** default pimSync Exception during sync: can't execute statement: 14 (unable to open database file)
2010-01-13 20:36:17.835 ERROR*** default pimSync 122MB An exception of type NSInvalidArgumentException occured because: can't execute statement: 14 (unable to open database file) (no stacktrace available)

I tried:
deleted the address book - > does work and synchs one sample contact
deleted the address book and reimported from the address book backup -> does not sync
Tried to sync only one contact group containing 3 simple contacts ->does not sync.

The complete Address Book has about 1600 Contacts and 40 groups

The time, until the error comes up is the same, wether I try to sync one contact or all.

I dont have much good Ideas left.
If there is really one "bad" contact it will not be very easy to find it.

Did anyone else experience this error and knows what to do here to find a cure ?

Does your contacts contain pictures? Try deleting ALL pictures and synching again.

however, this did not help - the address-book did not contain any pictures.

There are addresses like
first-name: abcde
Last-name: ///fghij or \\\fghij
or names in "'" or [].
I suspected these are the problem,
(any valid character should be supported I think but, you never know).

But, changing those did not help either.
