Default Can't Detect New OS

Please Login to Remove!

I was trying to upgrade my OS from v5.0.0.593 to v.5.0.0.656

When I open the apploader and plug in my BB's it doesnt show up with the OS as an upgrade, only shows 3rd party apps on the device with options to remove. I have removed the vendor.xml as per the instruction. Any other suggestions on why I cannot load newer firmware?

You mean uninstall the Desktop software or uninstall the old OS first before I install the new OS ? If you mean later, I have done so

How did you open the apploader? I once met the same issue when I opened it in the desktop manager, then I tried to execute it directly from the install directory, it worked.

yes! do NOT use the desktop manager to do your OS stuff.

follow the steps in the pinned article and its pretty clear.

I open the apploader directly from the file directory, I don't go through the Desktop Manager.

The funny thing is when I plug in my BB into my office PC and launch the apploader, it can detect the new OS to be upgraded, not when I do it on my home computer where it consists the same new version of OS.
