I just got my pearl, literally five minutes ago and I'm lost.* I downloaded the desktop manager and am about to open it.* I have the EDGE network, I got it a few days ago so it would be ready to go when I recieved my phone but its not working, I don't see how to set up my email or do anything really.* The books I got don't say much and I can't even see my SIM contacts.* Can someone please help me ASAP.

Your post tells us very little of what you have going.

Do you have the Blackberry Add-On data plan on your account? You'll need that in order to get email.

Sim contacts aren't used much on the BB. The BB has it's own contact/Address Book that syncs with Outlook if you desire. Its far superior to anything the sim has on it. If you want to view your sim contacts, you have to go to Address book >Hit the menu key (left of trackball) and select "Sim Phonebook."

I went to the FAQ and it's helping out a good bit (thank you).* I do have a data plan. I'm trying to get to a browser but I don't see how. I've completed all the steps on the FAQ that are related to this. Any suggestions?

I think I might of got it now. I hope so. Now I'm really starting to like this phone. What a difference ten minutes makes.

You're sure you have the "Blackberry" data plan? It's required for a browser. If you do have the "Blackberry" data plan then go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table and hit menu and select "Register Now."

And go to your carriers website to setup your Blackberry email address (and other POP3 address if you choose to) and send yourself the Service Books. If you cannot find that, you can call Customer Service and they can send the Service Books to you from their end as well. Good luck, it sounds like youre on the right track!
