I am getting an error the at says "Media Card can not be accessed due to fatal errors"

I have tried restarting several times. I am running 5.0.0.979.

Any thoughts on how to correct?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I belive that will delete all my media.

Media card was working properly untill I rebooted device.

Yes it will.
However, you could try it in a computer, and if it reads ok, move the stuff off the media card, and format, and put it back in the BB and see if it will read it then

I backed up and resored from my desk top. Issue solved

This post worked for me ... I used the Desktop to backup/restore and then rebooted the device and the fatal error bit the dust.
