Default Defunct USB Connector?

Please Login to Remove!

When I plug in my Pearl to any USB port I get a "insufficient power" message on it -- even though a lightning bolt appears next to the battery indictator. At first I thought it was just because I had a Mac, but at work I've tried it in several PC's and it's always the same.

Also, my IT guy tried to add the device to my BES profile and it wasn't recognized by the software -- nor the Desktop Manager software he had on his personal computer. We had to add the device using the over-the-air method.

Think I have a defunct USB port on my Pearl?

Both of these have been answered in other threads.... The mac needs a driver to stop that error about power, its not a bad port or anything... pocketmac is suppoed to have it out in the next couple of weeks.
As far as the BT services go, go to MEDIA on the 8100 and then go to the folder you want the file, then hit the menu button, then hit Receive Using Bluetooth and it will work fine using the Bluetooth File Exchange program on your Mac (in the Utilities Folder on the Mac)

I have received the "insufficient power" message on my Windows box. However, when I press the return (? right side of pearl) button when I get this message, it asks me if I want to transfer files instead of trying to charge the phone. (Don't remember the exact text of this message.) I say yes, and then I can transfer files with no problem. I'm thinking maybe it's because my computer's USB port is older. It lets me transfer files, it just won't charge the device.

Hope this helps!

I'm sorry I wasn't clearer, but I understand the limitations of the Mac (and have read the threads pertaining to it) -- my particular issue has to do with the USB port and the Desktop Manager software.
