Question Locate others' location without 3rd party app

Please Login to Remove!

Friend said he got someone showed him that his location can be located by only his BB PIN. No apps installed on his BB.

Is that even possible?

What's another app to do the similar, but without a login like Google Latitude?

If you have the BBM 5 it is able to show your country location and time zone, and that's only if the other person allow it. So it is s very limited feature.

From within BlackBerry Messenger: one user can send their location. In a BBM convo > Menu > Send Location.

But you can't find someone's location by only knowing their PIN.

You are right, I never tried that before. And it complements my previous post

By location I mean a GPS map. I actually also think that wouldn't be possible.

A beta version of BBM did contain this functionality. I miss it very much - it is still present in the BES IT policy, so, there is a chance it might reappear:

You could enable location tracking for a time like 2hrs. "Alert me if X is in reach of 1mile" or something like that, if the other party previously agreed to this.

It was then removed in the later release version of BBM.

I think to use this feature you have to take the latitudes and longitudes to exactly locate the location of your desired place.
