BBMaps "KML Cache Limit" ?

Does anyone knows, what this means exactly ?
Is this the same as the map cache which can be cleared ?
Setting this value to "unlimited" on a modern device like the 9700 should give you a plenty amount of offline Maps.
But, KML as far as I know is not a format for storing maps, but Objects which overlay a map - so maybe this is something else ?
