Default Use for bluetooth too?

Hi, I like the look of this b/c of the external antenae (for better connectivity) and the apparent ability to plug in the unit for re-charging. For my 7290 w/Bluetooth, I wonder if I could use this unit for a car kit, hands free, etc., and also use the bluetooth headset if I wanted to? What do you guys think?

You could use a BT headset with it.

I recently bought one of these from Smat Phone Depot. I am having issues using my Bluetooth headset while my 7290 is plugged into the car kit. I can hear the other party but they can faintly hear me. I am researching the problem.

I have not had time to test it again. I was planning to test the 7290 by connecting the wired headset and a Bluetooth headset at the same time, and seeing if the wired headset cut the bluetooth off.

Now that I thin about it it seems logical - the wired headset (THB) is making a physical contact to the unit and is making a physical connection change. That seems right -which means you CANT use both at the same time,

Just ordered one. Been looking for this ever since I got my 7100g. I have a hard wired kit in my car now for my old Nokia, so it should be a fairly easy swap I am hoping. I'll let you know how it works!

Received my order today, quick turn around, nice service. Quality of the kit looks very nice. I'm going to try and install it this weekend and I'll post some pictures.

Default Installed the car kit today

Was able to install the car kit today, went pretty smooth since I had a car kit installed previously (Nokia). I was able to use the same speaker and microphone that was installed, those plugged right in. The rest of the wiring used the same colors as the Nokia kit so it was pretty simple.

The instructions with the kit are not that great, but you can make it out. If you have done car stereo or this type of thing before you should have no problem, otherwise bring it to someone that does this and it should not be an issue.

So far, seems to work just fine. You do have to plug and unplug the wire on the side each time you want to use it, but that's not a big deal. It's also an issue that the BB has in general, not this kit.

Pictures of it installed (along with my old car kit) can be found at http://www.pauley.org/gs400

Hi Ken, we had a THB car kit fitted and were then told that we couldn't have another one because of software faults. Have you had any problems with yours? Does anybody know of any problems with them and the 7100 BB?

I haven't really seen any major issues. I have had the device reboot on me a couple times, but one of those times it was not in the car kit so I don't think it is related.

Who said there were software faults, THB?
