There are no tears or rips in the “ultra vinyl” in either the seat or backrest. Overall, this chair is in very good condition. The one flaw is that the back plastic piece has suffered quite a few impacts from the doctor, so all the corners are cracked. We lifted it up to see it it could just be removed, but the vinyl doesn’t go across the entire back. There is a company that refurbishes and sells these exact chairs for $500 or more. You may be able to obtain a replacement back from them. We also explored having one 3D printed.
There is some loss of chrome on the backrest metal support. The backrest can also be completely removed and you would just have a round stool.
The cylinder does raise the chair. The wheels all move freely.
Honestly, if the back piece wasn’t cracked, we would have listed this chair for twice as much.
